Impact drivers

Spedagi

Singgih Kartono, Founder
Product: Bicycle

Spedagi originates from the phrase ‘sepeda pagi,’ an activity initially undertaken by Singgih S. Kartono to maintain his health. Regular cycling, combined with his background as a product designer, sparked his interest in bicycle design. The abundant availability of bamboo inspired him to develop bamboo bicycles, following his previous success with the Magno Wooden Radio, a globally recognized village product. After a long development process, Spedagi has evolved into not only a beautiful bamboo bicycle but also one that is strong, durable, and comfortable. Bamboo is the best vibration-damping material compared to all other materials.

In terms of strength, Spedagi has been tested in world ultracycling events like Paris Brest Paris 2019/23 (1,200 km) and The Japan Odyssey 2023 (2,700 km). Beyond its unique material, Spedagi serves as a trigger, metaphor, and symbol of the Spedagi Movement, a social movement focused on village revitalization. This achievement led Spedagi to receive the Gold Award at the Japan Good Design Award in 2018. Spedagi is a well-designed, proven bicycle brand with a strong and deep narrative and philosophy. The Spedagi bamboo bicycle is the perfect icon of green mobility, an emission-free transportation tool made from environmentally friendly materials. With all its achievements, Spedagi is ready to scale up its production capacity.
